Before & After - A Crazy Edit

Before:

This is a photo of a rose and the shadow of its bouquet, sitting on our deck. I knew I wanted to do a crazy edit with this photo, because that is the theme this week for Simplicity's Photography Blog Hop. However, I've been wondering since I saw the theme: What does she consider crazy? I've always wanted to mess around with reverse black & white, so I went with that for -kinda- crazy.

My steps:
-crop (I used an 8x10 ratio, but I wish I had cut off more on the right side.)
-levels & flatten
-gradient map: reverse black and white & flatten
-PW Sharpen This on rose and edges of shadow & flatten
-signature & flatten & save

  5. Pretty cool - I think that qualifies for crazy...or rather creative!

  7. I really like both versions--I think the first is prettier, but the second has a surreal feel that seems appropriate for maybe a paranormal book cover or something.
