Twisted Fate Photo Challenge - Street

The theme for the Twisted Fate Photography Challenge this week is Street. This is the photo I had originally planned to use - a photo of my best friend and my mom walking down the street of the town where I live.

Here is the before and after comparison for Pixel Perfect:

This is a really basic edit: crop, levels, black and white gradient map, and a free texture from Isabelle Lafrance. Done!

After editing, I decided that it didn't really fit the theme. So I went back into my archives, found another one, did some more editing, and ended up with this:

And I love it! So THIS is my entry for Destiny's challenge. I used the Heartland PSE action from Pioneer Woman (converted by Rita from CoffeeShop) and lowered it to taste, plus the XSGrunge texture from Shadowhouse Creations.

Do you agree with my choice of photo for this challenge?

Twisted Fate Photo Challenge - Bench

The theme for the Twisted Fate Photo Challenge this week is Bench. I have a gorgeous shot of a bench in my parents' backyard that I absolutely love. Although I did post it on my other photo blog, I've never posted it on this blog, so I wanted to enter it into Destiny's challenge.

Here is the photo by itself:

And here is the before and after of this photo for Pixel Perfect's blog hop.

Twisted Fate Photo Challenge - Heroes

Everyone who knows me just a little, knows that my younger brother is my hero. He is kind and loving, funny, courageous. He has endured much more physical pain and suffering than most people I know, but he stays strong throughout all of it. It makes me cry to see him cry, and it makes me happy to see him happy.

Bowling is one of his favorite activities. He goes twice a week, every week - once with his classmates and once with his Challenger League team. All of his teammates are my heroes. They are innocent angels, blessings sent from God to teach their families how to be better parents/sisters/brothers.

Taken with my iPhone and edited using the instagram app.

Twisted Fate Photo Challenge - Broken

This is a broken Silly Band. A colleague of mine had a nephew with brain cancer. He sadly passed right before his 6th birthday. At the wake, they put out a basket of blue Silly Bands. They asked everyone to take a Silly Band and wear it in his memory because he loved them, and his favorite color was blue.

I wore mine until it broke.

Twisted Fate Photo Challenge - Buildings

The Twisted Fate Photo Challenge is a brand new challenge! The first theme is Buildings. I was planning to use one of my photos from Disney. (Cinderella's castle is a gorgeous building.) However, I changed my mind and decided to showcase a photo that I have never posted before.

This photo print is available
to buy in my Etsy shop
in 3 color tones and
4 desaturated tones.
Click HERE for the color tones
and HERE for the desaturated tones.

And now for a couple more link parties. First up is Happy Monday. The theme is Sunrise/Sunset. I chose sunset. I am also linking up with Shutter Love Tuesdays because this week's theme is Shadows. And last but not least, the Happiness Project.

And speaking of Shutter Love, my sweet angel photo was chosen as a top 10 for their Overlay theme!
