Just a quick post to share a photo I recently edited, and fell in love with!

Quotography - Reflections

Originally, for this theme, I wanted to use a photo of a lake with a reflection of a bright blue sky. However, when I saw this quote, I knew I had to use a photo from the honeymoon. We had 2 wonderfully sunny days at sea during our cruise, during which I took lots of photos! I just love the glittery reflection of the sun on the water.

Quotography - Colorful

Tuesday is usually "Texture Tuesday" on my blog for Kim Klassen's link-up. However, the theme this week is "a movie." I thought and I thought and I thought... And I just couldn't come up with anything that worked. Not to mention the fact that my wedding is 4 days away. It came to a point where I couldn't take any more time away from other priorities to think.

So I decided to link-up with Nicolasa over at My Perspective for her Quotography challenge instead. The theme this week is colorful.

Quotography - Birthdays

For Nicolasa's Quotography challenge this week, the theme is birthdays. Her birthday was last week! (You should all head over to her blog, {My} Perspective, and wish her a happy belated birthday!)

I chose a photo of my older brother from his birthday earlier this year. He was not amused when the waitstaff started singing to him at the restaurant. I guess he thinks that 28 years old is too old for fun surprises?!? I disagree!

Black and White Wednesday & Quotography

the long road

Black and White Wednesday is run by Lisa over at
The Long Road to China.

I have another edit of this photo. I cropped it differently, left it in color, gave it a bit of vintage feel, and added some soft texture from the CoffeeShop Blog. Oh, and I added a quote for Quotography (theme - anything!).

Quotography and GTKY

The theme for Quotography this week is Friendship, so I thought I'd share a photo of me with my maid of honor. We've been best friends since high school, even though we attended different schools. This shot is from 3 years ago.

And this week's questions for GTKY:

1. have you ever gone to see a movie by yourself? Several times! When I am traveling for work in the fall, I often find myself alone, with 4-5 hours to kill. Seeing movies are a great way to pass the time (when I have a few extra bucks to spare).

2. would you rather go through a tornado or a hurricane? All natural disasters terrify me - tornadoes, hurricanes, avalanches, tsunamis, etc.

3. have you made summer vacation plans? I'm spending the summer preparing for my wedding. My future husband and I will be going on a cruise for our honeymoon at the end of August.

4. what's your favorite accessory (can't be jewelry)? Purses are not my thing. Neither are shoes. I like accessorizing with sneakers, and sometimes headbands.

5. have you ever been thrown a surprise party? Sort of. Jon (my fiance) likes to plan surprise dinners for my birthday.

6. are you friends with your neighbors? Friendly? Yes. We have a little old lady underneath our condo, and a couple with an adorable dog right across from us.

7. what's the last movie you saw in the theater? It's been a long time... Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part I.

8 what's your favorite food network show? We only have basic cable, so we don't get the Food Network. But my mom and I watch Chopped together when I go to my parents' house. I also like Cupcake Wars and Last Cake Standing. Jon likes Iron Chef.

No MPM today. I have no plans for this week other than salad and cereal. I'm skipping grocery shopping this week since Jon is still away, training for his new job.

Just one other thing - I am participating in the Flip Flop Swap next month! There is still time to sign up. CLICK HERE for more info!

MPM (on Tuesday) and a new Photo Challenge!

I was WAY too busy yesterday to get this post up, but there's nothing wrong with posting it now, right?!

Jon (for new readers, he's my fiance) is going to be at the corporate office for training for his new job for 2 weeks, starting this weekend. I decided to make some new meals this week, since I'll be eating dinner alone for 2 weeks.

Last night - I made chicken with honey sauce in the crockpot, along with corn for a veggie.
It was basically a homemade honey teriyaki sauce, and the chicken was really moist and tasty... But I had SO MUCH sauce leftover and I have no idea what to do with it.

Tonight - Simple coq au vin in the crockpot.
I made a few adaptations to this recipe, I'm not sure how it will turn out. It definitely smelled good this morning, so if it works, I'll post the recipe.

Wednesday - Steak on the GF grill
With some sort of veggie, of course.

Thursday - I'll be traveling all day (last day of travel for the spring season for my job), so Jon will be eating leftovers.

Friday - breakfast!
Bacon, eggs, and toast. I'll be saving the extra bacon to make a 7-layer salad for next week.

If you want to join in with the weekly menu planning, head over to Org Junkie every Monday!
