The first CSS winner!

Before I get to that, I wanted to quickly point out that I have finally re-figured my blog to the 3-column layout. The stupid tutorial I used claimed it was the easiest one out there. Ummm... I know HTML, but I was very frustrated by it. I'm not even providing a linkback; it was that bad.

But the good part is that I finally updated a header to match my background, and I made a snazzy new button. It's totally NOT what I wanted, but it came out much better than I expected. Please feel free to add my button to your page! (I also have a button page if you look at my list of links on the right. I will add your button if you add mine.)

Some things have been moved around on my page. For example, as I already mentioned, my links are now on the right, instead of right under my header. The button that I ALSO already mentioned can be found on the left side, under the "Pathological Picture Taker" button. (Shabbyblogs.com rocks!) I am hoping that I won't have to change much more for a few months, but if I do, I will try to keep the changes small and unnoticeable.

Color Splash Sunday was an overwhelming success this week! We all took pictures of flags, and everyone's entry was so creative. See them all HERE.

I am so excited about CSS getting more followers that I am going to finally start offering prizes, like I said I would. I was waiting for 6 entries, and this is the first week that's happened.

Now, don't get TOO excited. I can't offer prizes every week. I am still going to stick to the 6 entry minimum. But now that CSS has more publicity, I'm really hoping the number will continue to increase. And the first prize is just going to be a virtual prize. The winner gets to pick a theme for the next open week (June 27th). You also get this cute little button that I made on a whim.

Okay, the part you have all been waiting for! In order to pick a winner, I enlisted Jon's help. I told him to look at all of the entries and simply tell me which one he liked best. Of course, he had to be difficult; he picked two. So, from those two, I've picked The Mommy from Twenty Little Toes! Congrats! I loved your color splash flag photo for so many reasons; you definitely deserve this! Think up a theme and email me: yma367[at]hotmailDOTcom.

Next week's theme is YOUR CHOICE, which I am going to do for the first Sunday of every month. This gives you a chance to show off your skills without being stifled challenged by a theme. Also, you don't have to rush to enter your link on Sundays. When the link goes up on Sunday mornings, it doesn't close until noon on Wednesdays (Eastern Standard). And please spread the word to fellow bloggers, especially if you see that they use selective color in their photo editing.

Thanks to everyone who has been so supportive and loyal with my meme throughout the past few weeks. It wouldn't exist without you!

The blog re-do is cute! And I wish I could make three columns work on mine but it squishes the center column too much and my photos get cut off. Most of yours fit (except your black and white Wednesday photo). I know this is probably different depending on what monitor you're using. I have a really wide monitor in my home office but I'm on my laptop now and that photo is chopped off.

Not a big deal but I wanted you to know. :)

@Mama Hen, thank you! :)

@Donna, thanks for letting me know. I put the columns on % (rather than fixed pixels) so that it would be flexible, but I guess it didn't work out like I had hoped. I'll have to mess around with it some more this weekend.

Love the new layout. I had to come and check it out. Congrats on getting more for CSS. I suck at being a bloggy friend lately. I promise that I will be better this next week. I love your new button and its already up on my page.

Aww, thank you so much!!!!
I didn't even know there was a prize! What a pleasant surprise:)
I'll be sure to think of a theme, although I've always loved yours! I'll be sure to spread the word.

BTW, since you have been researching I thought I'd ask you, have you come across anything with a 1 column layout? I was looking for something like that for my blog.

Amy, I love your new blog layout and coloers.

Whoo for having prizes now. LOL, hope we get 6 people together again.

For the blog layouts, go to the layout tab, then where the www. is type in darf. you can then click on a part that says Template Designer click on there and you have options to do your layout. I love that little thing. Makes it alot easer.
