Black and White Wednesday - A Flag

As tired as I am right now, I really wanted to post this tonight.

I'm at a hotel in CT right now, traveling for work again. I have plans to visit another state park tomorrow! (Remember, my personal project?) So, I had a 4-hour fair today, and lots of driving, and class, and then more driving, but this blog is just so important to me anymore.

Black & White Wednesday is run by Lisa over at
The Long Road to China.

This is Fort Griswold State Park in Groton, CT. It's basically a big meadow now, with some hills and some pathways and some stone doorways. But it USED TO BE a huge fort to protect the coast of CT, along with Fort Trumbull, which is across the bay. Most of Fort Griswold has fallen down, but this photo was taken in the area that used to be inside the walls. The stone doorway opposite is cool; it leads through a tunnel to a pathway that in turn leads down to the battery area. There are some gorgeous views of the LI Sound.

Oh, also, my pse was upgraded to 7.0 when my hard drive was replaced 2 days ago. As a result, none of my actions are uploaded. This was edited by me, with a texture from Shadowhouse Creations. (They are my fave!)

I bet it was a very solemn place to be. It looks peaceful.

I miss Groton - that place gets lots of crap but I really liked it. Next time you're there, look up Paul's Pasta Kitchen in New London - it is AMAZING.

Great shot! I love how you see the flag in the distance!
