Black and White Wednesday - A Doe

*sings* Doe, a deer, a female deer.... I love that movie!

the long road

Black and White Wednesday is run by Lisa over at
The Long Road to China.

This photo is from Haley Farm State Park in Groton, CT. It's a smaller park, meant for quiet biking or walking. That's what I was doing, just walking, not really even taking pictures, when I walked over a low hill and almost ran into this deer. She was startled, but didn't run, so NATURALLY, I whipped out my camera. I was surprised how many pictures I was able to take before she turned and meandered into the trees.

I want to thank everyone who left some kind words on my post yesterday. I'm still very anxious about Matt's appointment today, but it's reassuring to know that my blogger friends are thinking about him and praying for him. The appointment is this afternoon, and my mom promised to call me right after. One way or another, there will be an update here soon.

Oh, what a moment that must have been. And she stayed so long too.

Hoping for the best for you!

WOW, that's lovely!
I've heard that when deers get startled they freeze and don't really run away. Explains all the car accidents, right?!
