I missed this opportunity when I was at Silver Sands State Park in Milford, CT. There is a sandbar that leads straight to this island, but it is covered at high tide. Duh. So, I'm at this beach, looking at the island, for a good 45 minutes before I finally start walking the sandbar toward the island. Of course, as I am walking, I can see the waterline creeping inward, flooding the crevices between the rocks and sending the birds scampering away. I kinda kept ignoring it, until with one big whoosh, it covered the sandbar completely.
I was so disappointed that I had missed my chance to walk to the island. Fortunately, as I walked slowly back toward the main land, I realized that if I had indeed gone over earlier and made it to the island, I probably would have gotten stuck ON the island as the tide came in, covering my way back instead of my way in.
Oh well. At least I got some great photos. And I can always go back.

Love these Amy! This last one is one of my favorites so far from your series. Look forward to you taking some pictures of the island on your return visit.
I kick myself over missed opportunities but I guess we have to celebrate the opportunities we seize and it sounds like it worked out for the best this time. I love the shadows on the last picture because it looks like it goes on forever...
Blessings~

Love the last picture! It has a nostalgic feel to it, like we've all been down that bridge before :)
Great shots, I would've venture in and gotten stuck. Glad you made it out. I love the wonders of nature.
I especially like the DOF of the second one and the added depth of the shadows. Great work.
Pretty! That sounds like a very cool place.
